Colorado Singer/songwriter Mitchel Evan releases single "Back & Forth", Teases New EP
Boulder, Colorado singer/songwriter Mitchel Evan has released "Back & Forth", the first single off his forthcoming EP of the same name.
A rootsy, introspective rumination on dealing with uncertainty and maintaining conviction in spite of it, "Back & Forth" is an ode to individual perspective, focusing on the doubt that comes alongside being yourself. With it's soaring vocal harmonies and simple, bass-driven verses that blossom into a charmingly melodic flurry of folk-rock by the time the chorus hits, this song is just as thought-provoking as it is rhythmically stirring. The dance-able beat and soaring intonation between the verses elevate this song from quiet introspection into a loose, easygoing anthem that does it's best to get you out of your chair and moving.
"Back & Forth" is the lead single off Evan's upcoming EP of the same name, and was recorded with his former band The Mangrove. The band split up last year, but Evan, now a solo artist, has chosen to release their final recordings despite them no longer playing together. This will be the third release under The Mangrove moniker, following 2015's A Place of Love and 2016's Higher Ground.
The release date of the full EP is currently unannounced, but you can stream "Back & Forth" on Spotify and other digital services, and keep up with Evan on his website and his Facebook page.
