Beach Bunny "Honeymoon"
Written By Max Calabrese
Beach Bunny’s “Honeymoon” released on February 14th, 2020 known for its hit “Cloud 9” is indie pop with incredible wordplay. Most of the tracks share a similar story however coping in a way with personal struggles people face.
I like the structure in “Rearview” starting with guitar and vocals and then switching to bass and vocals until bringing everything in. I like the upbeat in “Cloud 9” and the remarkable use of wordplay with “lately, all I feel is bad and bruised.” “Tired of tripping on my shoes.” Beach Bunny never fails to fit words cleverly together.
I love the melody in “Cuffing Season” especially in the verses. Builds well to the chorus. I like how well-spaced and stretched the structure of the song is. There are a lot of earworm tracks in this album. I will be catching myself singing the chorus of “Dream Boy '' a lot haha.
10/10 Listen to: “Promises,” “Rearview,” “Cuffing Season,” “Dream Boy” and “Cloud 9”
